Chris Mudd

Although known to many in Eugene as a Horn player having performed with the Eugene Symphony, Newport Symphony, the Oregon Chamber Players and Shedd Theatrical Productions, Chris has had a passion for the guitar since elementary school. 

Performing regularly in the St. Louis Area with various cover bands, Chris played in Pit orchestras beginning in high school and was hired to perform in many different ensembles. One notable band was the “Bud Band”,  a jazz rock ensemble sponsored by Anheuser-Busch to perform at various sporting events around the St. Louis area. Chris also studied classical for a time with Alan Rosenkoetter at Washington University.

After some years performing in the Eugene/Springfield/Portland area as a Horn player, Chris dusted off the guitar and began playing with a local Gypsy Jazz and Jump Blues band. Chris has been a member of the Swing Shift Jazz Orchestra for 5 years. He is also in his 25th year as band director at Churchill High School.
